Recognition and respect for creative ideas
The current edition of the ‘Created in Zlin’ project builds on the previous two ones. It originated from the initiative of the Technology Innovation Center (TIC) and the Zlín Creative Cluster. This project that celebrates and highlights services and products is intended for entrepreneurs and brands of various sizes who bring unique solutions in the field of cultural and creative industries. It gives space to innovators and presents the most interesting that is being created in the region—not only to the professional public but also to a wider audience. The ‘Created in Zlin’ 2025 also meets the idea of connecting the community, supporting collaboration, and inspiring the creation of innovative projects that come to life in the region, helping others, and bringing joy.

Who can participate?
Participation in the Created in Zlin program is free and open to everyone who meets the established criteria. Submitted projects must have a connection to the Zlín Region, which means that their author or business must operate in this region. Important evaluation factors are originality and quality, with products expected to stand out through unique features of their production, refined design, and an innovative technical or visual concept.
Another important aspect is enviromental responsibility—sustainability and environmentally friendly approaches in the production of products or provision of services are assessed. Submitted projects must be publicly available on the market and have a real commercial impact. Only products and services launched on the market within the last three years can be submitted, as supporting the presentation of new offerings is the priority.
The Golden Brick as a Symbol of Success
In previous years, both products and projects or services aimed at diverse target groups attracted attention. In 2023, the awarded ones included Kenka Puppetgame – an interactive artifact game by Petr Valla, Libella Seat Varia – a modular seating system for wheelchair users by Libella design, and Budka – a the multifunctional object created in collaboration by Adéla Bačová and Lenka Sršňová. Two years earlier, Koma Modular was recognized for its Fashion Line modular housing concept, a designer Veronika Zelezníková for her želejewellery jewelry collection, and pro.story – a platform for design and visual art.
Authors and company representatives personally meet at a gala evening where results are announced and new professional connections established. Three awardees receive symbolic golden bricks, referencing the characteristic architectural element of the city of Zlín and at the same time representing a solid foundation for building something valuable and lasting.
“The main purpose of the project is to build and develop the creative community in the Zlín Region; the award itself is the proverbial cherry on top and a motivation for the further development of the projects,” explains event manager Dušan Sviečka.
The brick motif is also reflected in a catalogue presenting all submitted entries, which is available on the project website and serves as an effective promotional tool.
“The publication also includes English versions of the texts and is helpful not only for regional presentations but also at professional fairs on an international scale,” Mr. Sviečka adds.
Supporting Talent Instead of Competition
The Created in Zlin program is not about rivalry—three projects are awarded, but they are not selected by a jury. Instead, the participants vote for each other, strengthening the creative community. Each vote is encouragement for further work and development.
Petr Valla sees the award as confirmation of the right direction in his business, and Veronika Zelezníková sees it as motivation for further steps ahead:
“I appreciate the recognition from the creative people of our region, whom I respect and who inspire me,” she highlighted.
Those interested in this year’s edition can participate via the online form available at www.createdinzlin.cz until September 30, 2025. By doing so, they not only enter the competition for the award, but also gain the opportunity to vote for the most interesting projects.
And how will it turn out this year? The results will be officially announced on November 24, 2025, at Holešov Chateau.
Will you be part of it too?
